Gaye Leggat has been pursuing her interest in photography since 1978 when she first studied darkroom film development. She turned to colour photography in the 1980’s and took workshops with Freeman Patterson in Canada and Robert Stahl in Washington State.

For the past seven years, her creative pursuits have taken her on workshops and tours in Japan, Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Cuba.

In early March of this year, she visited Cuba for her fourth photographic expedition. Throughout her time in Cuba, she has focused on portraiture, fine art interiors and the culture of life on the streets.

She has travelled through the countryside to rural areas and fishing villages, but also to cities including Trinidad, Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba and Baracoa in the south.

These visits have inspired this current exhibition. Her work appears in private and public collections in the United States and Canada. Gaye divides her time between her homes in Scottsdale, Vancouver, BC and her family summer retreat on Hernando Island.

The Exhibition runs March 31st – April 14th, 2019
