Chance Phillips

is a Fiber Artist whose lifelong love of color and texture led her to felting 14 years ago. She works with both wet felting which uses soap, water, and friction to transform wool to felt…and needle felting where the tool used for creating is a barbed needle. Most recently she has developed a method she refers to as “painting with wool”. Carded, dyed wool fibers are the medium in this art form and the barbed needle is the brush. Painting with the wool fibers through layering and shading continues to inspire and direct her creativity.

Her work can be seen at CattleTrack Arts and Preservation and Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa where her permanent installation “World So Full” welcomes guests from around the world. As Artist in Residence there, she loves passing on the art and joy of felting.
